Frames made of brass are really expensive and really rare. Frames made of pure iron are also all but an extinct species. If you get one built to order, the prices would be really high. Wrought iron frames are still available easily, with canopy beds made of steel being the most common. They are also the most affordable with prices in reach of most people.

The information that you should look for in purchasing a frame is of course the metal that is used, the capability of the frame with regard to weight it can sustain, the size and of course the warranty that is available on the frame.
